This has been a long time coming, that’s for sure. Guvera is an Australian website that works in conjunction with artists and advertisers to give the consumer the music they want, for free. Once you sign up, you’re able to browse artists and albums, preview songs, stream whole songs, or download the full song in 256kb/s MP3 glory. And it’s all legit. They manage this by sending you to a sponsored page containing the song you want, and a selection of other songs that may interest you. The web page is themed for the advertiser with links to their product, but none of it is intrusive. Your list of songs is right in the middle of the page, centre stage, and you listen to them from there, add them to your playlist, or download the full song. It’s that easy, and it downloads right away with no pop ups, confirmations or annoyances.

This is what the music industry needs. Artists are paid by the advertiser, the advertiser is able to target ads to its audience, and you get songs for free. Check it out at, and check out the video below for more info.

No, I’m not paid for this, asked to say it, or am recompensed in any way, I just think it’s a great idea that needs to get out there for everyone to see.
